Returning Home

Hello friends and family! I'm going way out of my comfort zone in seek of donations to help fund a trip back home to Connecticut from Tennessee. As many of you may know I was previously working for a non profit organization in the Appalachian region. What many of you may not know is that last year I parted ways with the organization to launch an independent business of my own offering electrical services! I started with much enthusiasm and even landed a couple jobs. However, only three months after launching I was driven completely broke and the business is now being closed. It was a tough pill to swallow and I have been humbled with many lessons because of it. I don't regret trying but I clearly was not ready for such a big change.
I greatly miss my family and friends. My father isn't well and has battled illness and financial troubles of his own, all the while supporting my little brother Ryan. I miss my little bro most of all! He's growing up so fast and I feel I've made a terrible mistake not being close to him and active in his daily life.
My wish is to go home close to my father so that I can lend a hand when he needs it and to be supportive of him in his hardships. To be more present in my little brother's life so that he can have a positive role model to look up to. To bounce back from my mistakes. To be home again.
I have a job prospect already lined up for me when I finally do get myself home. I plan to continue my career as an electrician as part of a company before revisiting the idea of having one of my own. My biggest challenge is that I'm in a viscous cycle of poverty because of the failed business, there simply aren't jobs available here that would allow me to save up enough to safely return home.
My vehicle is old and the risk of breaking down on a 900 mile trip is too high. If I was able, I would be driving home yesterday. These funds would allow me to rent a trailer large enough to tow my vehicle, a rental truck large enough to pull it, and all remaining expenses such as gas, hotel fare, and additional fees. My hopes are to make this trip by the end of February so that I may start a new job by the Spring season.
Again, I apologize if this fundraiser offends anybody and I understand fully that there are better places you could use your money. I do though, GREATLY appreciate anything that you may be willing to send that would help me return home, be present for my family, and to propel me forward in my career after taking a chance last year.
