We are a newly arrived family from a conflict-affected region. We came here as a family of four: mom, son, daughter, and our chubby and cuddly kitten.

We have had to make a lot of difficult decisions lately, and now we are facing another one. Yesterday, our beloved cat went out on the balcony for the first time, took a fancy to new smells and nature, jumped on the railing of the balcony, and slipped and fell from the 10th floor. Our beloved cat survived with broken legs and pulmonary edema, but he is alive.

We barely had time to organise our lives here and were just about to take out insurance for the cat, but we didn't get there in time, and the amount the hospital charged us was overwhelming for us.

The doctor suggests putting the cat to sleep, as it will be very expensive to treat him. But we can't accept the fact that living or not living is not a question of health but of money.

Many people considered our desire to keep him alive stupid, but he gave us a lot of love and comforted us in the most difficult moments. We can not die this tender being, so please help us to give him a chance.
