Jax Vet Bills After Car Accident

Hi, my name is Dayna and I am fundraising for vet bills for my dog Jax.

On Monday 13th February i walked to the service station across from my house. Unfortunetly as i live on acreage with no lights on the drive way i did not realise Jax was following me the 200m to the service station (directly across from our driveway)

As I was entering the service station I heard someone call out that a black dog had been hit, my worst nightmare had come true, Jax had tried crossing a main road to follow me and unfortunetly was hit by a car on a main road.

We rushed Jax to the Animal Emergency Service in Underwood where they hospitalised him for the night. They advised he had a moderate bleed in his liver and he has fractured his right back leg.

He managed to get through the night without the bleed getting worse, but he needs to stay in hospital for atleast another 24-48 hours to have the bleed monitored (it isnt getting worse but has not gotten better either) and montitoring his enzyme levels in his liver to ensure they drop before we can even think about surgery. At this stage, they are so high they arent even able to get a reading.

We had him transported to AWL in Daisy Hill in the morning of Tuesday 14th February where they have been montioring him, thankfully he is perking up a bit and becoming more aware of his surroundings.

As the fracture of his back right leg is a clean break, they are optimistic that it is repairable. We have been quoted roughly $5000 for this procedure not including any hospitalisation fees or roughly $3000 to fully amputate the leg.

Unfortunetly, I did not have pet insurance for Jax. We have spent $3000 to keep him overnight at AES in Underwood and another $900 for his first day of treatment at AWL. I have spent ever spare cent I have to get him here, and I am trying to fundraise to get Jax the surgery he needs.
