Jax da baby

Hello,
My name is Vanessa, and I’m reaching out on behalf of our beloved family dog, Jax.

Jax is a 10-year-old Pitbull who has been part of our lives since he was just six months old. We met him at the San Bernardino animal shelter, and the story of how he came into our lives is something we’ll never forget.

That day, Jax was actually the first dog we saw, but he was fast asleep in his kennel, so we kept walking. After meeting several other dogs, none of them felt like the right match. Just before we were about to leave, we walked past his kennel one more time — and there he was, wide awake, tail wagging, full of life and ready to play. His spirit was unmistakable, and the connection was instant.

We later learned that Jax had already been adopted by someone else earlier that day. But the person never came back to pick him up. Because of that no-show, the shelter gave us the opportunity to take him home instead. It felt like fate. That twist of timing brought us the most loyal, loving companion we could have ever hoped for.

Recently, we noticed some concerning changes in Jax’s skin. After a vet visit, we were told it might be skin cancer, possibly due to all the time he’s spent sunbathing over the years — one of his favorite pastimes. He now has an appointment scheduled for a biopsy, which will help us confirm the diagnosis and understand what treatment options may be available. The cost of this biopsy is $525.

Unfortunately, our family is going through a difficult time financially. We’ve been hit with unexpected legal fees and the consequences of two recent car accidents, which have made it incredibly hard to afford this unexpected medical expense. We are doing everything we can, but right now we need a little help.

If we are fortunate enough to receive more than what is needed for Jax’s care, we plan to donate any remaining funds directly to the veterinary office treating him. We would love to help another pet owner who may be struggling financially or support the clinic with supplies they may need.

Thank you for reading Jax’s story and for showing kindness during a time when it truly means everything. Whether you’re able to donate or simply share this page, your support is deeply appreciated and will never be forgotten.

With gratitude,
Vanessa and Jax
