Hi,  I'm an vet tech and am currently doing relief work. Last night a sweet 5 month old large breed dog was brought in for a broken jaw.  He was viciously attacked by a larger housemate. This sweet boy came in with his bottom jaw hanging and his tail wagging. Due to the severity of his injuries and the cost, the owner elected to surrender him. I quickly offered to rescue this young boy. In fact I offered so quickly, forgetting that I'm not a full time employee with discounts, as I had been previously with this company prior to doing relief work. As of now I have renamed this boy Jaws and have stared pain meds to keep him comfortable. He is having to wear a basket muzzle to keep his jaw stabilize until I can take him to a low cost clinic today for sedation and radiographs.  Currently from the physical exam we can tell his jaw is broken in two places and his bottom lip has born torn away from the jaw. Ideally he will need to see a surgeon to repair the jaw and have his skin sewn back to the jaw. This will be a costly procedure and a long process. During this time he will have to have a feeding tube placed so that he can receive nutrition.  He will need to be vaccinated, neutered, started on heartworm prevention, tested for parasites, and treated for said parasites as he has never received previous vet care. He has not had any training and socializing as well. I have full confidence that with his sweet temperament he will thrive with proper love and care. 

However, I am reaching out in hopes that people will be able to assist me in giving this sweet baby a chance at life. If you are able to pray for him, share this post, and if at possible donate any money, even if it's only loose pocket change, I would very appreciative.  I know many of us have been affected by the coronavirus financially, I am not excluded from that. I understand if you are unable to help, but would appreciate anything you feel led to give.  Once he is healed I plan to find him his forever home.
