Jawara Family – Medical Emergency & A Path to Stability

I'm raising funds for my dear friend Musa Jawara and his family in The Gambia. Having met online we have stayed in close contact over the years. Through circumstance I’ve helped him through past medical emergencies and a relocation to a safer, more stable neighborhood.

But right now, they’re facing a serious crisis. Unable to further give financial support myself, I'm hoping some People can come together to make a lasting change in this young family's life.

Musa’s wife Mariam, who is pregnant, has been hospitalized with malaria. She urgently needs to be transferred to a city hospital for better care, but due to lack of funds, she has already been discharged before receiving the treatment she needs. On top of this, they are caring for their two small children and struggling to stay afloat.

UPDATE: Due to belated readmission to the hospital Mariam has now tragically lost the baby and is still in critical condition. in order to stabilize her condition she needs to be transferred to another hospital.

This fundraiser is not only about surviving this current emergency. It’s about helping this family break the cycle of crisis. Mariam has a dream of starting a small craft shop to contribute to their income and create a more secure future for their children. With enough support, we can cover Mariam’s urgent medical needs and give her the tools to help support her family long-term.
