Hello. My name is Javier Gomez and I am third year undergraduate student studying molecular cell biology at UC Merced. I have recently gotten myself into an economic situation that prevents me from continouing my education here at the university. Grades, fortunately, are not the issue but instead a mistake in application forms regarding health care insurance. To make a long story short, I have my own health care insurance through Kaiser and agreed to waive the health care that UC Merced had to offer. Unfortunately, there is a difference between having coverage in southern California (which is where I am from, San Diego) and northern California. Furthermore, I was notified at the end of my spring semester (just in time for class registration for the fall!) that I did not meet the critera and therefore a hold was put on my record which prevented me from registering for my final year here at UC Merced. Having a job at home (Clayton's cofee shop) I saved money only to pay my phone, insurance and rent bills and do not have the extra money to pay a full year of school insurance. I appreciate any kind of economic help and forever be thankful because if the goal is met I will be able to gradute UC Merced in time and continue my pursuit of becoming a nursing anasthesialogist. Thank you and God bless.
