Jaturi Warrior Princess

It is with the heaviest heart and the worst pain imaginable that I have to inform you all of the tragic loss of our Warrior Princess Jaturi. Many of you have followed Jaturi’s journey over the years as her UncleDad shared her and her life long battle against a beast called cancer through social media. Jaturi’s battle with cancer caused an amputation of her leg to occur in order to prevent the cancer from further spreading, multiple surgeries and treatments, countless hospitalizations in different cities, and the experience of very difficult and painful side effects of the experimental medications we hoped would someday save her life.

However on May 27th. 2021, our amazing Warrior Princess and Hero gained her wings but we all know superheroes wear capes and Jaturi will always be our hero. Cancer never took Jaturi’s smile or her joy away, she will always be our warrior princess. This baby showed us strength, courage, and the ability to stand strong no matter what we’re going through. Our family is at a loss for words and beyond grief stricken. No one is prepared for times like these. I’m struggling for words to put here right now.

Many of you have asked how you can donate or support Jaturi’s funeral cost, Erika, and her beautiful family in the present and in the coming weeks, months, and years ahead. Erika is the sole provider for her family and over the years has endured the responsibility of ensuring Jaturi received the best medical care possible. As all of us know a mother’s quest to see this through cannot be matched with the burden of the costs that are associated with the medical care that Jaturi was provided or the expenses that loom near. As there is no value a treatment, doctor, hospital, or pharmacy could place on saving your child’s life. If you would like to donate to help this beautiful family please do so but most importantly please continue to pray for them.

When you chose to be open to life and are tasked with raising 4 beautiful girls as a single mother, you also accept that it will not be easy. This is more true when you have a child that is diagnosed with Rhabdomysarcoma; a deadly form of childhood cancer. As a mother who is relentless in her pursuit to ensure that her last days, weeks, and months are spent ensuring that her dying child understands and feels nothing but unconditional love, it may appear to others to be completely insane because of what she did. It requires a very deep faith in God’s provision for her family’s needs. Erika is aware that she will always have shortcomings that God will cover. Our family was blessed to be raised by parents and grandparents who embraced this openness as well. In times like this one, people may ask; How is Erika going to make it. So I want to share with you that the comfort and joy of having other children fueled by Jaturi’s spirit of  energy and passion along with her faith in God is the perfect salve for this mother’s grieving and broken heart. We are all in awe of how God is providing for Erika and our family in such an intricate way.

This will not be a family that is lonely, hungry, or desperate. One of the greatest blessings is that we’re surrounded by friends, family members, and those who took support in Jaturi’s journey that all of you combined have created a loving and supportive community that is helping us during our greatest time in need.
