Hello, this is Jasper. He is the best boy! He was born Jan 31st and he is almost 6 months old. At his 10 week vet appt the vet discovered a heart murmur and it was quite loud. I was heartbroken...here I had this perfect little puppy and he has a heart defect. I felt helpless but knew I'd do anything in my power to make sure he was ok and able to live a long happy life. The vet recommended getting him into a cardiovascular specialist asap for further testing because the wait could be a while. The game plan while waiting was to wait and see with frequent check ups to continue to listen and monitor. The vet did say most murmurs close by 4-6 months but with how loud Jasper's murmur is this one may not close and early intervention is key. As of our last visit the heart murmur had been a bit quieter but still quite detectable. We go again tomorrow for a final check. The Cardiologist appt is next week and the echo will take place same day. At that appt we will create a game plan. I will provide an update ASAP.

I am reaching out to ask for help in covering the cost of the cardiologist which will include the Dr's visit, an echo cardiogram and bloodwork. We will also go through a round of pt (possibly more) to strengthen his heart. This was an unforseen medical expense and as we all know specialists in the animal world can be incredibly expensive. I'm not one to ask for things so this is hard and I'm truly grateful for any help you can provide, prayers you can send and simply sharing. Jasper has filled and healed a place in my heart that was empty. The path leading to this moment fell into place exactly how it was supposed to. He is going to do great things and touch so many hearts, I just need to mend his heart first. Thank you again!
