Jasper independently mobilise!
Donation protected
Hello. We are the Page Family and are wanting to raise funds for our darling boy, Jasper.
Jasper is autistic with a rare physical disability called PFFD. His femur on his left leg did not grow and as a result his left foot is in line with his right knee. Jasper’s limb difference is too extreme to lengthen his leg and so we are facing the prospect of amputating his foot.
At the moment, due to the complexity of Jasper’s condition a best fit prosthetic has been used. It this is heavy, leaves soreness and is pretty ugly. He has been unable to wear this for the last 6 months due to pain.
That now means he has to be carried everywhere or go in his buggy from being a baby. We have tried an nhs wheelchair but they are pretty useless. He cannot push himself and it can’t handle anything except perfect paths!
We would like to raise funds for a light weight children’s wheelchair with which we can attach a triride so Jasper can independently mobilise. He can have a wheelchair to get around on family days out, trips to the park, school outings and beyond. So he finally doesn’t feel his disability stops him doing something. We plan to use his small wheelchair budget from the NHS together with funds raised from this page to purchase a zipper wheelchair and triride.
