As almost everyone is aware of the tragedy that has hit Jasper and many other areas in the wildfires that are currently and constantly plaguing Western Canada, this time it has hit close to home for us.

Our son Dylan, and our soon to be daughter-in-law Aydra, who both very recently relocated from Eastern Ontario for a position based in Jasper, have lost everything they had. After spending everything they saved to move their belongings, and purchasing what they could afford on a training salary to make the rental home a place of their own, they abruptly gathered the pets immediately after the evacuation notice was issued, and within hours, their home was completely burned to the ground.

They managed to safely get to Valemount (in British Columbia) with the assistance from neighbours as they were apart at the time of the evacuation notice. Aydra was home and Dylan was at work with their only vehicle. They are currently staying in shelters that have food and some comforts, but they are heavily questioning their future as is everyone else there with them. They did not have any apartment insurance so we do not know what compensation they will receive, if any.

We are reaching out to anyone that is able to help us in any way, to provide a financial gift to Dylan and Aydra (and their beloved pets) to help rebuild what they lost and get back on their feet.
