Jason's Medical Fund

I am the proud mother of Jason Wever.  He is my first born son and a brilliant and wonderful person.  As many of you know, he has suffered for several years with a strange condition and two years ago had brain surgery to correct the condition on one side of his head.  The surgery allowed him to pursue his career in science.  Until that time he was suffering so that he had to leave college early and forgo a Phd and take a masters.

His entire life he has wanted to be a scientist.  He was until recently employeed by Washington University School of Medicine in research.  Due to his condition, his experience in the lab did go as planned.  Unfortunately, he lost his job with the lab several weeks ago.  Until then, we were planning on having the second surgery in November in Portland Oregon.  His surgeon who performed the first surgery, moved there in December of 2014.  Because the surgery is so specialized, we have decided to make the trip.  

Since he lost his job, he no longer has health insurance.  The only way for Jason to continue in his pursuit of science is to fix the problem on the other side of his head.  With out health insurance the surgery would cost approximately $150,000.  His dad and I have been able to help him with his living expenses temporarily but cannot afford to pay for the trip to Portland as well as his insurance. 

So with a little proding from friends, family and clients, I have decided to start a go fund me for Jason's Cobra insurance payments.  We hope this fund with last till he can get his surgery, get well and find a more suitable job in the science in St Louis. 

If you can help with a donation we would much appreciate it.  If you know Jason, he is a loving, hard working kind soul who deserves another chance.  This illness has affected the whole family for the past 8 years.  Without the support of his dad, brother, family and friends, I hate to think where we would be.  Thanks for considering to help.  Hopefully some day we can return the favor!!!
