Jason's Urgent Need: Build a Wheelchair Ramp
Donation protected
Jason suffered a life-changing injury on September 29, leaving him now paraplegic (paralyzed from the waist down). We currently live in Western North Carolina, and our home is completely inaccessible for his wheelchair. We are extremely fortunate to have family with an accessible home in Conway who invited us to stay for a little while we work out what our new life will look like and figure out what our next steps are. He is being discharged from the nursing home on February 28th, and we are coming straight to Conway. It is a big move and change for all of us, and it is just the beginning. We have many obstacles ahead of us, but we will take it one day at a time.
As for today, all that’s left to do is build a ramp! We are fortunate to have volunteers willing to help with labor; all we have to do is purchase the lumber.
With moving states and switching jobs, there will be a gap in insurance, which means many out-of-pocket medical necessities, as well as home modifications and medical equipment, and things I’m sure we haven’t even thought of yet. Here is a breakdown of supplies needed to build the ramp provided from contractor; any donations will be GREATLY appreciated to offset the cost of lumber.
