On September 16th our nephew Jason (our sister Jenny’s youngest son) was involved in a horrific accident. He was alone so we are not positive what took place but we assume he was climbing a tree to sit on the wall or on the roof across the street from his home to relax after work. We are guessing that he lost his footing and fell from either the wall or roof. Jason suffered multiple fractures in his face, a broken collar bone, multiple broken ribs but the worst injury was a brain bleed in his frontal lobe. The swelling in his brain was so severe that his neurosurgeon had to preform a craniotomy to remove part of his skull to alleviate the pressure on his brain. Since the accident Jay has been in a medically induced coma. Yesterday the swelling in his brain became stable and they were finally able to start lowering the medication keeping him in a coma. He is still currently in the ICU in critical condition, but our family is hopeful because he is finally able to squeeze our hands, move some of his extremities and not to long ago he even snapped his fingers. The doctor’s are still telling Jason’s parents that his recovery is going to be a long and very rough road because we still don’t know the severity of the damage that his brain suffered. Jason is the sole provider for his girlfriend Katrice and 2 young kids Illiana (4) and Matthew (2). We are trying to do all we can to make sure that the kids will be taken care of during Jason’s road to recovery. We also understand that times are hard for so many of us, so if you are unable to donate, we still ask for your prayers and well wishes.
