Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

Friends and family,
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Marc Randall. I am a Police Officer and have been serving with the Honolulu Police Department since January 2005 . I am writing to you on behalf of our friend, Jason "J.W." Webber. He is a friend to so many, but he and I have always called each other brothers. Jason and I grew up in the South Bay during our late adolescence and early teenage years during the mid-late 80's. His dad, Jerry Webber, and mine were best friends.
Many of you have known Jason for years. He's a wonderful person. A hard worker who always smiles and a faithful Christian man who is always persistent to succeed. Unfortunately, as it is said in my line of work: Sometimes, bad things happen to good people.
On March 9th, while in the Harbor Gateway area of Gardena, CA, Jason was carjacked, kidnapped and beaten severely by multiple assailants. He was subsequently thrown out of his car and pretty much left for dead on the side of the road. Jason was found and taken to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center via ambulance and the Los Angeles Police Department is actively handling his case(s). [LAPD-DR#17-1807801]
A heaven sent angel...his girlfriend, Leona, has been right by his side ever since! (This pic was taken prior to his terrible incident)

Several of his personal belongings including his wallet, phone and other personal belongings were in his car as he was preparing to move. His car has still not been recovered.
With good reason, Jason was initially embarrassed about what happened to him. Thankful and trusting the process of God's love and healing, he is giving himself permission to no longer be a victim and has allowed me to share with you what happened.
Jason is currently under a doctors care at a rehabilitation center. He has recently applied for unemployment, disability and is looking into low income housing. He has no car, very few items of clothing and limited incidentals. Realistically, nothing.
Looking into his future, he is going to need cosmetic surgery, dental work and other required treatments that are associated with these types of traumatic experiences.
Embarrassed but needing to tell friends and loved ones about what happened, Jason is finally opening up to us; his friends and family. There is undoubtedly a need for financial help. I asked Jason if I could share this horrible event in his life by starting this GoFundMe cause for him. He reluctantly said "yes". When the idea was suggested about Jason's current and future financial needs, I assured him that "the friends who know you, will want to give and will do it gladly with joy and a smile."
Just know that Jason appreciates every ounce of help that will be offered to him and he is so grateful in advance for your friendship, love and support.
