Jason's Journey to Recovery: Your Help Matters
Donation protected
If you know him you love him! Jason is the kindest, most caring and compassionate human being I know!
On Saturday, October 19th, Jason reached out to a close friend for help. He didn't know where he was, but used his phone location to find him and quickly realized something was wrong. His friend then rushed him to the ER at St. Dominic in Jackson, MS.
They quickly did a CT scan and immediately admitted him to the ICU. After more tests and an MRI, they discovered multiple masses on his brain. The Dr.'s decided they needed to do a biopsy through a procedure called a craniotomy, along with a resection if possible. Once the results came back they confirmed the diagnosis: Glioblastoma, also called: GBM, glioblastoma multiform.
With this diagnosis he will need chemo and radiation. Without treatment, the Dr.'s are giving him 3 months. However, with treatment, they have seen patients respond well… and have some who have even been in remission for 10 years. So that's what we are believing for. Jason needs healing as well as a miracle! He is believing for both, as are we!
He will also need Physical & Occupational Therapy since they did surgery on the right side of his brain & because of the tumors he has weakness on the left side of his body. They will give us more details on all the treatment schedules and home health care soon.
They are also sending the biopsy to the Mayo Clinic for genetic testing to know more details for treatment.
Jason was admitted 10/19/24 and discharged on 10/30/24. He's now currently at home. On Nov. 11th & 12th he will meet with the neuro oncologists again to see when he can begin chemo treatment. He's already met with the radiation Dr. and was told it will be about 7 weeks everyday, Monday through Friday, for radiation treatments.
Jason also wants you to know that his ex-wife Jo, her mom and their 18 year old son Jeremiah all relocated voluntarily and left their jobs, their friends and most of their possessions back in Amarillo, TX and are here with him now, at his home in Byram, MS to take care of him.
One of their biggest needs right now is obviously financial provision for basic things… like their mortgage, utilities, food, gas as well as some medical supplies. Jason owns his own handyman business and will be unable to work for a while. He was also in the process of getting approved for health insurance when all of this happened… so he doesn't have any right now. They would be eternally grateful for any help you could provide in their time of need.
One of the verses Jason is standing on in this season is Romans 8:28
"And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose."
Jason is the most precious soul and has helped SO MANY people in his life, now it's time to help him! Please share this with people you know and people who know Jason!
Thank you so much!
God bless you for your financial support and your prayers during this time.
