Jason’s Battle Against ALS

Donation protected
As many of you know, our friend Jason Tincher, has been suffering for the last 3 years with a debilitating disease called ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease. He was diagnosed in September of 2019 at the young age of 42. Unfortunately, this 100% fatal disease has taken a toll on Jason and his family, emotionally, physically, and financially. I am using the Gofundme platform to ask you, our friends, family and community to donate in hopes that it will ease some of the financial burden of medical expenses, and when the time comes, memorial expenses.
Due to the circumstances of Jason’s illness, Misty, his wife and best friend of 25 years, took on the role of full-time caregiver. This led to the necessary decision to put her photography business on hold and terminate her full-time employment as a Paraoptometric Assistant at Southern Eye Care in Oak Hill in January of 2021. Although, they have been making it work while both unemployed, the weight of financial burden looms over their heads as they care for their family and other everyday expenses as well.
Jason is a wonderful friend, husband, father, son and brother. He has brought joy, laughter, and a shoulder to lean on to my best friend since they were kids in high school. He is the father to two adoring sons that have always looked to him for guidance and support. He is a hard worker who has dedicated his life to making sure his family is taken care of and happy. He is the man we all admire for his strength and courage during the hardest time of his life.

Each and every donation is truly appreciated. If you are unable to donate, simply sharing this GoFundMe can go a long way towards helping raise the money they need.

With love and endless appreciation,
Beth Powers

Jason and his family have been life long residents of Oak Hill, West Virginia. Jason worked in the HVAC field for 30 years and helped numerous people during that time. His honesty is what people liked most about him and they trusted him for that. His customers and friends would always call out to him for his opinion for that reason. Even while working demanding jobs, Jason and Misty were very active with their two son’s In Oak Hill’s athletics and have met many lifelong friends throughout the sports community.

ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) is a progressive, neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. It causes motor neurons to degenerate over time until they eventually die. When the motor neurons die, the brain can no longer initiate and control muscle movement. When voluntary muscle action is progressively affected, people lose the ability to speak, eat, move and breathe.
