In October 2023, Jason Sylvester—a devoted single father of three—received the life-altering diagnosis of ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). Jason has been the sole caregiver for his children: Tristan (14), Morgan (13), and Dawson (12). Together, they cherished weekends filled with hiking, biking, and exploring the mountains—creating memories rooted in their shared love for the outdoors.
ALS is a relentless and progressive disease that gradually impairs muscle function, affecting mobility, speech, and eventually the ability to breathe. As Jay's condition progresses, he is no longer able to work. His only source of income—medical Employment Insurance (EI)—is nearing its end, and with no other financial resources in place.
Friends and family are coming together to ask for help—so that Jay doesn’t have to face this chapter of life worrying about money. The goal is to give him the ability to focus on quality time with his kids, rather than the mounting stress of everyday expenses.
Every contribution-big or small- makes a difference. And if your unable to give financially, sharing this page with your network means the world.
Thank you for supporting Jay, Tristan,Morgan and Dawson during this incredibly difficult time.
