Jason Maynard

On the morning of aug 3, 2017, my brother in law Jason Maynard was riding his bicycle to work around the time 7 and 730 am in Carrollton, Tx. Needless did he know this morning would be one of the most horrific days of his life. Jason was an avid bicyclist and enjoyed it for a hobby along with commuting to and from work. Jason stopped at the intersection of Eisenhower and Frankfort Ave at a red light and that is the last thing he remembered. An automobile hit Jason,  t-boned him on his bicycle and then instead of stopping the vehicle drove off leaving Jason to nearly die in the street. This trauma will change his life forever. Jason spent the first day in the hospital fighting for his life in the operating room. He is in Plano medical center in the Neurotrauma icu and will be there for months that we know of at this time. Jason has undergone multiple surgeries including abdominal surgeries and a colostomy because his intestines were mangled and he was bleeding internally. He received 7 units of blood on the first day as the surgeons said they lost him multiple times. We are lucky he is still alive was what the surgeon stated. Hes undergone surgeries to repair his pelvis, spinal fractures, hip dislocation, ankle fracture, colostomy, leg fracture,  and other reconstructive surgery so he could sustain his life. There are more reconstructive surgeries to follow. Jason will be on bed rest for a minimum of 4 months. Then a rehab hospital for a few months to learn how to walk again.  Jason will need help with financial expenses, hospital bills, and other expenses as he goes through this long process of recovery and he was the sole provider for his family and 3 kids. Every little bit helps and if u are unable to help financially, please just say a prayer or share to get the word out.  Jason's family needs closure knowing that someone will pay for this. No caring human would hit someone and drive off leaving him bleeding and in severe pain from all the injuries sustained and drive off. Justice needs to be served. Thank you again from our family during this difficult time.
