Jason Hooper's Memorial Fund

Donation protected
My name is Megan-Marie but that isn't important, GoFundMe just wants you to know who I am - I created this fundraiser on behalf of Jason Hooper and his widow Jamie Hooper's family during this difficult time. Jason and Jamie (and their many pets) were *right* in the middle of a move during Jason's unexpected death on Sunday, 28 August - Jamie had to sign the lease on their new apartment yesterday, despite the loss of her husband and her world turning upside down just a couple days before that. Jason had been diagnosed with heart problems from a young age but his passing last weekend still stunned and shocked us all. He had just turned 35 years old.

His wife (again, and their beloved pets) is devastated and scrambling for a way to pay for all of the death expenses: the autopsy fee as of right now is only $318, but the cremation will cost between $1000-3000, and the family would like to hold a small wake where they can share stories and smile about Jason's life and the impact he left on us all.

Any amount you can donate will go a long way in helping Jamie and their pets move forward, and as a thank-you, for donations of $25 or more, we will send you a copy of one of two of Jason's original drawings (robots! the guy was very talented; photos coming soon), or both for donations of $50 or more.

Jason's autopsy is being performed today and the family would like to move forward with his cremation as soon as possible after that, so we are hoping for a deadline one week from Jason's death - Sunday, 4 September. It would mean the world to his friends and family if you could help his widow during this time.

From Jason's SIL, Kari:

For those that may not know, my brother-in-law, Jason Hooper, passed away over the weekend. Needless to say, it's been an incredibly heartbreaking, overwhelming, and traumatic few days. My brother was a wonderful man that is going to be missed beyond belief. My sister, Jamie, and our family want to thank you for your kind words and thoughts over the past few days.

To allow my sister some time, if you have questions or want to send your condolences, I ask that you please direct them to me via text or private message.

Again, we want to thank all of our friends and family for their love and support during this time.
