I'm Jason. I'm an animal rights advocate (see www.bostondoesboston.com) and a musician/songwriter/producer/technician. 

I moved to LA to pursue music, life, peace and happiness in January 2016 with my three awesome cats and about $6000 that I saved and sold my stuff away for, then basically got kicked in the gut over and over again... got assaulted, lost my dream house (which I found and had the credit to obtain) due to truly disgusting roommate drama, catalytic converter stolen, car window smashed, guitar stolen, glasses broken, struggling to find work... but you know what?Not quite ready to give up.

My friends suggested GoFundMe. I've been relatively poor my whole life, and with that comes a kind of pride for managing to power through regardless, but my friends said:

"Knowing when to ask for help is one of the most responsible things a person can do." 

"You got a lot of friends with ten dollar bills they can spare. You ain't no freeloader and you got cats."

"Set up a GoFundMe. People set up those things bc they want new f**king shoes they can't afford."

OK, point taken. Here's what I'm raising money for:

- pay down maxed-out credit card
- replace stolen guitar - actually it can't be replaced but I'll get another and start writing immediately, I promise
- gather enough money to start over with a new home (I'm staying at a very gracious friend's house)

I need to get a new place by June 1st... where I wind up will depend largely on this effort. I'm working and looking for more work all the time but it's rough - my whole network is 3,000 miles away, back in Boston. 

I don't want new shoes, tickets to a concert, a handbag, or even nicer music gear. I earn things like that myself! All I'm shooting for is a chance to put my life back on track out here.

If you can help me out, I'll happily give you digital copies of any album I've made with my band back home (www.theluxuryband.com). If you're a musician too, I can offer mixing services if you can donate a somewhat comparable amount. If you would like me to record a new, stripped down version of any of my songs or any song you like (that I can play), I'll do that.

Just ask. I've never had much, but anyone who knows me knows that I share what I have.
