In early 2016, Jason Crossman was diagnosed with prostate cancer for which he had surgery at UCSF Medical Center in December. As he was recovering, Jason experienced a very painful setback that kept him in the hospital for another week. Even though Jason has medical insurance with up to 80% coverage, he is having difficulty coming up with the remaining 20% balance he owes in addition to his deductible expenses.
Because of his extended illness, Jason has been unable to work and he has yet to receive any State disability payments. The money he is taking in barely covers his living expenses as a single father with two kids,14 and 20. Donations to this fundraising campaign will provide financial relief as Jason recovers. Bills continue to accumulate and he is simply not receiving sufficient income to cover even basic living expenses let alone his growing pile of medical bills.

Jason has a deep passion for music and finds it provides a balance in his life that has helped him remain strong during the difficult times and joyous during the good. He has forged personal relationships with band members from Cracker, Camper Van Beethoven (CVB) and other well known artists and tour managers.

Jason's connection to music and Cracker/CVB is how many ”Crumbs" know and love him. He is also co-administrator/manager to a popular Facebook group named "Cracker Crumbs." For the uninitiated, “Crumbs" are self-dubbed Cracker (and CVB!) fans who have formed a tight knit community that considers its members family. Jason is a highly valued and founding member of the Crumb family and he needs our help.

Jason has passed his love of music on to his children, Madison and Griffin, who join their father (or does he join them?!) at concerts such as Public Enemy, Mumford & Sons, Jonas Brothers and, of course, Cracker and CVB!

For the past 13 years, Jason has worked at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital and is a well respected supervisor at the Environmental Services department. He misses being physically fit and healthy enough to work.
