It seems like only yesterday we were seniors in high school.  We looked forward to football games, school musicals, proms, senior week and making unforgettable memories.  Our only struggles were, getting good grades, staying out of trouble, not getting too intoxicated at a house party and preparing to make all of our future dreams come true.  The bond and legacy the “Conrad Weiser Class of 1995” had…was electric.  It’s time to resume our friendships, continue to be “Forever Young” and help our dear childhood friend, Jason Wentzel, who is in the biggest fight of his life.   

The Backstory

There are times in life when you absolutely need the right words to get you through up’s and down’s.  Now is the time to come together as friends, family and community to build hope and support to Jason. 

Jason assumed he hurt his back working construction.  After months of going to the doctor for tests, x-rays, mri’s, steroids and cortisone shots, nothing could relieve this intense back pain.  With further testing, Jason was told the devastating news, on his 41st birthday - Stage 4 Colon Cancer that had metastasized to his bones. 

The previous hospital told him there was nothing more they could do.  Well that response wasn’t good enough for Jason and his parents.  They received a 2nd opinion and Penn State Health in Hershey, PA said they can help him.  April 4, 2018 Jason had a long and successful surgery to remove a blockage from one of his intestines.  They were hoping to release him a week later.  He still in a hospital gown and uncomfortable bed .  His white blood cell count is very high.  They are doing more tests and x-rays.  He continues to be on a clear liquid diet.  Another bone test was preformed and it’s not very positive. 

Thank goodness, Jason is a spitfire.  He is a true optimist, who is ready to get back to work. 

The Costs

We are looking to collect over $30,000.00.  Your gift will help Jason and parents with extensive medical bills, daily travel to and from the hospital and any other misc. / unexpected expenses.
