Jason Womack’s family during cancer treatment

Latest update April 25, 2024:
Jason is in the process of receiving his final rounds of chemotherapy.!!
April 20th marked a year since his diagnosis.
The infusions have taken a big physical toll on his body. He has been having severe neuropathy throughout his extremities and jaw. His doctors are adjusting the dosage of the chemo in hopes that the neuropathy is not permanent. He was able to squeeze in a few shows during the break from his treatments and was thrilled to be able to do what he loves best and perform. He will not be working again until mid summer when the infusions are finished. He and his family are so grateful for all the outpouring of love and support. I wanted to repost this to help them on their final push through this difficult time.

Update as of December 18 2023:

Jason is recovering at home from his second surgery. This surgery has proven to be a more painful recovery than the first. He is staying positive.
His spirits are lifted by all of your love and support.

The family has taken a large financial hit with Jason not working and Tarah cutting her work hours to tend to the boys and caring for Jason.
Jason is still facing 4 more months of aggressive chemo therapy after he is healed from this latest surgery.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation and gratitude to all that have reached out, checked in, donated, dropped off, picked up, setup a meal train, cooked, babysat, listened, visited, sent cards, waited in waiting rooms with Tarah, sent flowers, messages of hope and inspiration. They thank you❤️

Many of Jason’s friends might not know that Jason was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. He has been through radiation and chemotherapy and has surgery scheduled in October. Following that there will be months of intense chemotherapy, which will make it impossible for him to work, as he is a full time musician and the majority of his income is from playing live events all over the country. Jason and his wife Tarah have 2 young boys, ages 12 and 7. Tarah works full time as a veterinary technician, but it will be hard for her to work and take care of the boys while Jason has a long road ahead of both treatment and recovery.
All money raised will be used to support Jason’s family, helping to pay their bills, rent, and excess medical costs during this scary time. It’s still surreal to think of Jason as sick and he has a hard time not working to support his family. Thanks for all your love for Jason and his family❤️
