My name is John, I'm Ocea's partner, and I am here holding Ocea's hand as she grieves her beloved father, Jason Whyte.
As you all may know by now, in the early morning of Thursday, April 2nd, Jason Whyte moved on to his next adventures in the afterlife. Jason was the epitome of Work Hard Play Hard, and he leaves a legacy of joy, laughter, and the best beats behind him.
Near the end of his time here on our mortal plane, Jason had been struggling with mental health and addictions. He was high functioning for so many years, but the impending loss of his beloved feline friend, Eli, pushed Jason over the threshold. In the final months of his life, he struggled very much to let Eli go.
There was no grim intention behind Jason's untimely passing. He was simply celebrating life and his loved ones, as he always did so wholeheartedly. In the end, Jason fell asleep with love and hope in his heart, and he never woke up.
Jason left behind hundreds of friends and family members to grapple with the confusion, grief, and loss, that comes after the untimely death of such a very loved son, brother, uncle, friend and father. In his wake, his one and only daughter is now left to pick up the pieces.
Jason was a superhero, and in being one, thought he must be invincible. He did not leave a will or life insurance for Ocea to lean on, as she now embarks on the most trying and heartbreaking journey of her life.
Ocea is now out of work for the foreseeable future, as she must take the time to grieve this tragic loss, and begin organizing her father's affairs, planning his life celebrations, and spreading his ashes in all of those places in the world that he found the most joy and peace... namely, the beaches of Sayulita, Mexico.
Ocea is now responsible for EVERYTHING. The rent for the home they have called theirs for over half her life, Jason's workshop, legal fees, her Grandmother, internet, hydro, all of his affairs.. etc
We are trying to raise these funds to give Ocea the breathing room to properly grieve while she is out of work/income.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts, and are sending out all our love to all those hurting with us, as we begin the process of honouring this legendary man, and begin to build back what has been broken.
We will continue to update this page as the dust begins to settle.
Sincerely,
John
