Jason Twyman

Hello! This page is in honor of Jason and Shawna Twyman.

Jason has been diagnosed with AML Leukemia.

It is 89% of the cells that his blood marrow is producing is "dumb" as the doctor says.

They are not maturing like they are supposed to.

 

-They are at OU Medical Center for a Month Minimum

-They will then come home for at-home treatment.

-Down the road and once a donor is found they will complete a bone marrow transplant for Jason.

 

They are unsure of the costs of the hospital stay or the cost of treatment but will keep us updated on their needs.

There will be a few different fundraisers that will be happening soon in order to help raise the funds needed to assist Jason and Shawna on their long road ahead. We are praying and gathering our community to make sure they are taken care of.

 

Jason and Shawna mentioned that "God wouldn't have let this happen if he didn't have a plan," they said, "He brought us to Enid so we could be introduced to this amazing community and meet the wonderful people in it." They said they are so blessed and thankful for the Enid Community and QUOTE - "We are never leaving."

 

Updates from the Twyman's:

 

January 8th Update

Praise report!! The preliminary results of the lumbar puncture are negative for cancer!! The lymph node biopsy came back negative for cancer!! Please keep praying the full results from the lumbar puncture will be back next week but it looks good at this point!!

 

January 7th Update

They did a lumbar puncture today to see if there is cancer in his spinal fluid and put a chemo treatment in there just in case. We should know the results pretty quickly. If there is cancer there then they will have to do chemo in his spine twice a week until it is gone and then once a week for 4 weeks.

 

January 5th Update

They are giving him blood this morning...He went from 7.2 yesterday to 6.7 today they said anything under 7 requires a transfusion...The nurse has been pretty much preparing us for that since she got back on shift yesterday...Jason Twyman is still doing well he is up and feisty as ever!!

 

Chemo has started!! It will run for 24 hours a day for 7 days...Then they will monitor him and make sure he doesn't get sick or catch anything for 3 weeks...
