Hi, I'm Cheryl and we are raising funds for our friend Jason Tavares.
On June 29th Jason and his girlfriend Kamila were in a terrible motorcycle accident when going out for ice cream.
Jay did everything right, but unfortunately a driver was driving in the wrong lane at a turn (for an extensive amount of time) on the service road, they went into the ditch, and ended up in a head on collision.
Tragically, Kamila has not woken up, and her family is preparing their next steps of taking her off the ventilator.
Jay has sustained extensive injuries as well, including a broken tibia and fibula, pelvis, clavicle, no feeling in his right leg, and brain damage. When Jay was brought to say goodbye to Kamila, he didn’t seem to understand that it was her. Only time will tell what these injuries will mean for Jay long-term.
Currently, his family is grieving the accident, Kamila, and Jay’s new circumstances. Jay’s phone was never recovered and as such, they don’t have access to his banking, bills, etc.
We are setting up this GoFundMe to help his parents with the interim costs of sorting out affairs for Jay, and to support whatever long-term needs he may have. Thank you for considering this.
