Jason Sickel Medical Fund

On Tuesday, January 9, 2024, Jason Sickel and his daughter, LJ, were sledding down a hill. While sledding, they hit a hole, which sent them both flying. LJ had a few bruises, but Jason had larger ramifications that resulted in a lumbar 3 burst fracture. That evening he was transported by ambulance to Overland Park Regency Hospital to get MRIs done. At first they thought he wouldn't need to undergo surgery, but due to his limited mobility in walking stable and the tingling sensation in his feet, he went into surgery on Friday, January 12th. The road to recovery will involve PT, OT, a back brace, and plenty of patience while rebuilding strength.

Jason has blessed so many individuals and families and it is our chance to bless his family during this time. His wittiness, killer dance moves, strong pedagogy, unfailing wisdom, and delightful presence could use a lift from those of us who love him. All funds will ease the burden for the Sickel family during this unsettling time.
