Jason Schroeder Celebration Of Life

Hello, my name is Shacari. As some of you know and others of you don't, my Dad, Jason, has been fighting stage 4 cancer and is now in hospice. It has been a long journey. On January 22, 2024, I was making dinner and received a call that I needed to take my Dad to the hospital. After many hours and a CT Scan, the doctor informed us that they had found a large mass on the colon which had metastasized to his liver also. A colonoscopy confirmed what was seen on the scan. In February, the mass was removed and in April, my Dad started very harsh chemotherapy treatment. The chemo failed for my Dad. I continued to stay positive, reaching out to other cancer treatment centers. UW Madison said that there was nothing that they could do as the cancer was too aggressive. Their prognosis was for two weeks or a bit more. Having made an appointment with Aurora also, I said, "Let's hear them out, Dad." I put my trust in God that He would take care of it all. That appointment with Aurora Cancer Care in Burlington allowed him to continue to fight. He was put on a new treatment plan. However, this cancer was so aggressive and just continued to spread throughout his body. His pain was excruciating. And so followed many emergency runs to the hospital and multiple stays at the hospital where various medications failed to relieve the pain for any length of time and then returning home only to be repeatedly taken back to the hospital for pain management. Three weeks ago, I had to choose Comfort Care over this noneffective protocol. Now we are approaching the end of our journey together. My Dad loved to be in the woods, on the water catching fish, up at the farm, and being with his grandsons. He is a part of many Pro Staff Teams: Badlands, Buckstik, Dirtnap, Raxx, Midwest Racks And Rods and many more. He screen printed alongside his Dad from the age of 7 and then started his own business years later. My Dad took care of me for 32 years. He is my Best Friend as he would tell you that I am his. Not knowing his life would be cut short, we didn't plan for any of this. Therefore, my husband and I and my boys are seeking help to cover medical expenses and to give my Dad the celebration of life and the celebration of the many great memories that he would want all of us to share. We would greatly appreciate any support at this time to make that possible. If that is not possible, we ask for your prayers. Lastly, we thank all those who have been praying and supporting my Dad and my family as he fought this last battle.
Thank you for reading this and may God bless you.
