My name is Niyah, and I am sadly raising funds to cover the burial expenses for Jason Santa-Cruz, the father to our 11-year-old son, Adrien. Jason meant so much to all of us—but most especially to our son. He was a great father who put his son in the center of his world. Jason was always the life of the party: funny, outgoing and charming. He is already greatly missed.

In the summer of 2025, Jason was diagnosed with gastric cancer. He fought his battles mostly in silence, undergoing surgeries and chemo treatments and not wanting to worry anyone. He was incredibly strong and brave during such a hard time in his life. In early November he sadly discovered the cancer had advanced to stage 4 and he finally decided to share the news with us. From that point on, he began living with my family in North Carolina, who did everything we could to support and care for him. Despite all medical treatment, Jason was not able to recover. His last two weeks were spent in the hospital, surrounded by nothing but love and family who never left his side. Jason was a devoted Christian who loved God. Despite being in so much pain and agony for months, he always remained faithful and positive. He spoke of God any chance he could, spreading his faith and love, comforting others when he needed comfort the most. After suffering such a long battle, Jason passed away on the evening of February 19th, holding his son’s hand and mine. We are comforted by the idea that he is no longer in pain and resting peaceful in heaven.

Jason’s death was tragic and so unexpected at such a young age of 30. I am now facing the costs of his burial. I want to give him a proper resting place in Raleigh, where my son Adrien can always visit his father. Any support you can offer during this difficult time would mean the world to our family.
