My brother is a hard worker, relentless, active, hilarious, generous, an amazing electrician/journeyman, and an amazing musician. He is also a Type 1 diabetic, since age 11.

As many Type 1 diabetic, he has had his fair share of hospital visits, medical issues, and physical and mental burdens that the disease causes. Through it all, he rarely complains. Even less, he likes to inconvenience anyone. As best he can, he pushes through to the next challenge. He is someone who is, at times to his detriment, a giver. He has helped friends, family, and colleagues with countless projects and asks for little in return.
On Tuesday, October 15th Jason was admitted to the hospital to treat an infection that had progressed – unknown to him because of the neuropathy that diabetes causes. The infection was so aggressive that he was rushed to emergency surgery for the initial amputation of all his toes on his left foot. I would later learn that if it had been a few more hours, he would have died. With these types of surgeries they are very unpredictable and it is hard to know both how the foot will heal and if the infection is completely gone. On Friday, there was another surgery that would take an additional section of his foot. The next three weeks will be crucial to determine if the wound will heal or if additional surgeries will take place. While he is getting as much rest and antibiotics as possible, it is still very uncertain how things will turn out.

One of Jason’s favorite things to do is work. I think he was more devastated to be off work for the next several months (at minimum) than to have his foot amputated. He is the LEAST lazy person you will meet and that’s why I think he should get the support when he needs it most!
I am asking that you will give whatever is in your heart to give to someone who would never ask you for it himself. Here is a look at some of his upcoming bills and what your funds would help.
· Rent - $850 per month
· Grocery/Food - $400 per month
· Utilities (Electric/ Gas/ Water/ etc) - $450 per month
· Medical supplies/ bills - $200 per month
What other ways can you help?
· Sign up for meal train providing a meal for him for the next couple weeks: Sign up HERE
· Send a grocery gift card: Message Sarah Neace for details
· HIRE or REFER him for something he could do at home / sitting down! Message Sarah Neace
