My little bro Jason Matthews had a scare while playing B ball with his son recently. Chest pains and shortness of breath had him in the hospital for tests. He's since learned that a previous course of antibiotics (necessary when he went septic) that were administered directly via his heart, left his heart very damaged. In fact, the surgeon could not believe that his heart was not inside a long term drug user. He's not living with a particulary robust ticker.
He's now been told he has an enlarged heart, the muscle tissue around the heart is weak, he has atrial fibrillation and a bad valve that must be replaced. The procedure will be risky and the road to recovery will be lengthy. And with the current state of the world, he is not even allowed visitors. Even his missus Kim and his three kids Faith, Lacey and Hunter cannot see him. There will also be medications necessary to help him recover and keep him alive.
As I'm in Australia, I cannot do much, but I can create this fundraiser to help with his medical expenses. I have no idea if this is enough, but I know any amount will help him and his family.
