On June 28th while at work, Jason collapsed. He was found unresponsive with no vitals, and was given CPR. While on his way to the hospital, he had to be shocked to jump start his heart. He was transported to St. Joseph Medical center.
We were told that because of his heart attack from 2 years ago, it had damaged his heart considerably causing a severe arrhythmia. Which in turn caused his heart to stop. At St. Joe they put in a pacemaker/difibulator. Unfortunately, he was continuing to have irregular, unlivable heart rhythms. He was then transported to KU Med.
Jason has had several surgeries at KU. They tried cauterizing his heart where the arrhythmia was, to try and get it to level out. Unfortunately, it did not correct the irregular rhythm. Then it was decided he would need an LVAD. Which is a pump that goes into his heart. He will then need a heart transplant at some point. At KU Jason was having issues with his lungs after LVAD surgery and was on extreme life support which included an ecmo machine. Things were not looking good.
Fast forward to today, Jason is awake, and working on recovery. His breathing is so much better. His heart is doing so much better. Jason has a very long road a head. My hope for this Go Fund me is so raise money for his everyday Bills. Rent, utilities. Jason will be unable to work for a very long time. And we are trying to ease that stress of worry about bills.
Jason has always been there for everyone. He never says no. He has helped so many people move, and has givin his last dollar to whoever needs it. So if Jason has helped you in the past, he needs you more than ever now. ❤
