For those of you who don’t know, Jason Leland has been at Lakeland Regional Health since September 29, 2021.

His wife, Juliana and oldest son, Chase found Jason in a terrible state that morning. Jason was taken to the hospital via ambulance and almost immediately put in ICU.

Jason was put on a ventilator a few days after arriving at the hospital. He was in complete liver failure and having a difficult time breathing due to everything his body was going through. He has been though several procedures to stop the loss of blood and had more tests than we can even begin to remember.

Jason was on a ventilator for 15 days. He has now been taken off and moved to a regular room. Although Jason‘s condition has improved such as he is no longer on life-support, he still has a long road ahead of him. Jason needs a new liver! He will be placed on a transplant list and will be awaiting a new liver. In the meantime he will go to a rehabilitation facility where they can help him learn to do things on his own again that he is struggling with. Being on a ventilator along with major blood loss and organ failure has caused Jason to loose a lot of strength. He will also need round the clock medical care to keep him stable until he is able to get the transplant.

Jason was happily married on November 17, 2018 to Juliana. They have just begun their new lives together as a married couple. Jason and Juliana have five children together. Three of which are still in school, the youngest kindergarten. Raelynn is only five years old. She has barely had a chance to make memories with her Daddy. And although the other kids are a little older they still need their Dad and Jules needs her husband as well.

The road to recovery for Jason is going to be long and they are going to need all the support they can get. As close family friends we are asking for any financial assistance to help offset medical expenses, house hold bills, child care, etc. We are also going to be setting up a meal train as Juliana has spent every moment she can with Jason at the hospital and this will help tremendously with the kids. Additionally and most importantly we are asking for prayers! We hope that Jason‘s body, mind, and spirit can hold on until he is able to receive the liver transplant.

Jason is an amazing friend, wonderful father, and a loving husband who desperately wants to continue to be those things! If you can, help us give Jason a second chance.

Please keep Jason, Juilana, Chase, Nevaeh, Olivia, Nicholas, and Raelynn in your thoughts and prayers as they spend as much time with Jason as possible and hope he can hold on for his new liver.
