Jason Kamps needs our help. Friends and members of the cycling community, we are asking for your help in the wake another tragedy. Jason, a friend to all, was violently struck by a car rushing to "beat" oncoming traffic while making a left hand turn. The driver never saw Jason until he hit him. This resulted in a week in Shock Trauma and spine surgery, along with a slew of lesser injuries including reattaching his ear. Even with the excellent care he received Jason has a long road to recovery. Many of you know Jason as a central figure in the Maryland cycling community, others may know him from REI where he runs the bike shop, but most will know him as the man behind Woof Cycling and his exceptional graphic design. For anyone who does not recognize the name, you are undoubtedly familiar with his work. He has designed cycling kits, t-shirts, and clothing for almost every local club and event, based on his imagination and attention to detail, including The BBC; LSV/Kelly; Adventure for the Cure; Howard Co. Police Cycling Team; The Maryland NICA League; and every t-shirt and jersey from Joe's Bike Shop and too many more to list.
Jason is now faced with months of recovery, unable to work his job, or even drive himself anywhere. All of his legal rights are being pursued vigorously, but that could take years to be resolved and Jason is faced with a period of uncertainty right now about whether he can pay his bills, and those bills are getting heavier because of his inability to take care of himself. Your contribution helps a friend in need.
Thank you,
