Jason (Jay) Coart passed away suddenly and tragically on the 15th March 2024 from complications after surgery. His family are now reeling in shock and grief at the unexpected loss of their son, brother and uncle. Jay was much beloved by both family and many friends who will remember him as an amazingly creative, loyal, honest, kind and tender-hearted man. He touched so many lives with his stories, advice, laughter, help, sportsmanship and unconditional love.

Over the years, Jay enjoyed a wide variety of interests. He was a die-hard Raider's fan who bled silver and black. He was a car enthusiast who could name any vehicle by sight and tell anyone everything you ever wanted to know. In his younger days he played softball competitively and also rose to high ranks in amateur Pool. He was an avid sports card collector and a keen fantasy football participant. He enjoyed watching so many sports with his dad as one of his favourite past-times. He loved the colour purple, he adored scary clowns, dragons and skulls but was terrified of spiders and mallard ducks of all things. Only Jay.

Online, Jay was known for his house and room decorations and showed a great talent and eye for all things design. He loved many games and showed a lot of skill in them. Halloween was his favourite holiday and was known by friends online with the moniker Voodoo after his love of the song of the same name by Godsmack. Jay delighted in music and had a massive collection of songs in his head that he could draw on from memory in an instant. He dj'd many parties with friends over the years through internet radio.Jay was a big fan of all things spooky and especially appreciated the horror genre in movies. However, his gentle side had him dreaming of living in a log cabin in the woods near a lake and having a wall-sized aquarium in his bedroom. Jay was a saviour to many who couldn't find their way. He was that voice of reason in times of grief and despair as well as a confidante who you could tell everything to and know he would keep it secure. In short, Jay was unique. A one-in-a-million character who lit up everyone's lives.

He was a loving son and cherished his parents. He was so very proud of his family and bragged about all their achievements. He would do anything for any one of them that was within his power. Jay's passing has left a giant-sized hole in many people's lives and we're all feeling a little helpless. We want to DO something. We want to SAY something. Something that might help ease the pain and the burden of expenses associated with this kind of unexpected tragedy. Please leave a comment about Jay and let his family know how very loved he was. Please contribute as little or as much as you can to help out towards his funeral/memorial expenses and other costs that his family have to bear alone. Let them know, we stood by Jay as a dear friend and we stand by his family at this time of grief and need.
