We first met Jason 28 years ago, while he was in college. Even then he was ambitious, making wedding plans with Eric's cousin while pursuing an intense degree in Architectural Engineering.

So much has happened over the years we've known him. He designed building electrical for 20 years, changing skylines, zoos and hotels, then moved to commissioning projects full time. Two years ago, Jason began his own company, celebrating its anniversary at the beginning of this year.

He and Cami have been married 27 years, and have made those years memorable with camping, attending major and minor league baseball games, Bible studies, and serving together in Sunday school and youth group. They have 3 kids -- their oldest is a pharmacy lab manager, their middle is finishing college heading for law school, and their youngest is in high school.

Jason loved staying active with softball and a golf league. He designed and physically built their house, ran the 2019 Memorial Marathon in OKC, had recently updated their deck, and built an elaborate stage set for their daughter's high school fall musical. Days before the musical's opening night, things changed.

While walking through NYC for their daughter's conference, Jason noticed some pain in his thighs. The feeling became worse as he headed home, and two days later, the pain was extreme enough that he had Cami drive him to the ER. In the multiple tests that followed, a CT scan revealed cancer in his abdominal lining, and he was taken to an oncology hospital. Days later, the first shot of chemo caused a tumor to burst. His body began shutting down, and he was transferred to a specialty hospital, where he spent a month in the ICU. By God's grace, Jason's body stabilized, and he was moved to the oncology floor.

In these months at the hospital, he's been provided with amazing medical teams and technology. As a result, Jason's body is now recovering. His last 2 bone marrow biopsies have been cancer free. Once his strength is back, he'll switch from maintenance chemo to a dose of extremely strong chemo and have a bone marrow transplant.

During this time in the hospital, Jason has been unable to work. He’s the main income provider for their family. Their basic living expenses and healthcare bills far exceed Cami's income as a high school resource para. While his body takes the time needed to rehabilitate, the bills continue coming.

It’s been an emotionally and financially draining 3+months for Jason, Cami, and their family. They need support and encouragement as they continue on this difficult path. Please take a moment to consider supporting this family through your love, prayers, and finances.
