Jason Godin's Fight
Donation protected
It is with tear-filled eyes that I must write to inform you about my dear friend Jason Godin. In the last few weeks, Jason has received a glioblastoma brain cancer diagnosis. This is the same type of cancer that Gord Downie battled just over three years ago. It is very aggressive and not curable.
Jason is an Ottawa Valley native that has many ties to the community. He is currently a Commissionaire Barrack Warden at Garrison Petawawa and a volunteer firefighter for the town of Petawawa. He is also one of the most kind, genuine, and altruistic people I’ve ever met. He is not someone who seeks out the spotlight. When you need him, he is there. He would give the shirt off his back to help a friend in need. It’s now his turn to be on the receiving end of the same love and selflessness.
Despite his diagnosis, Jason’s main focus remains the wellbeing of his wife, Karen, his daughter, Haley, and his son, Lucas. He is not giving up. He is ready to fight this head on. That being said, he needs the support from those around him. Unfortunately, his current health benefits will not be enough to cover the cost of his treatment, for which he needs to travel to Ottawa multiple times a week. The purpose of this Go Fund Me page is to help soften the financial blow that Jason and Karen will endure for the foreseeable future. Every little bit will go a long way as they travel down the inevitably tough road ahead.
Thank you for your understanding, compassion, and generosity.
