Hi, my name is Amy Oliff. I am fundraising for my dear friend Jason Gallagher. Jason and I are both members of the Open Heart Project, an online meditation community led by Susan Piver. Jason is a founding member and has been part of the Open Heart Project since 2012. Jason, who is now 43 years old, was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy at the age of 6. He now requires around the clock help at his home to assist with just about everything including getting in and out of bed and his wheelchair, tooth brushing, bathing, and eating. Over the past year the disease has really escalated, taking a toll on his body and mind causing very significant pain throughout his body. He currently sleeps in a flat, basic bed and his wheelchair is very old and difficult to maneuver (his current bed and wheelchair are pictured below).

All the funds raised will be used to purchase a hospital bed for Jason, which would greatly improve his sleep/body positioning and reduce his pain. He would also purchase a new wheelchair which would help to support his body more effectively and ease his discomfort throughout the day. Both a new bed and wheelchair would make an enormous difference in Jason's physical comfort and quality of life as they would help to offer some solid support and ease to his body.
