Hi, my name is Donna (Jason's cousin, niece of Barbara Feltz) and I am fundraising for the family of Jason Feltz during this heartbreaking time.
At this time of tremendous sorrow, Jason’s family is in need of financial support. Jason Passed on September 9, 2023. Although Jason had struggled with medical issues, Jason was living each day to make it count and was taken from us All way too soon. In honor of Jason, please consider contributing to his family in this difficult time.
In 2005, after years of searching for answers while suffering fatigue and severe breathing complications, Jason was diagnosed with Alpha 1–Antitrypsin Deficiency. This is a lung disease characterized by low levels of protein in the blood causing the blood cells to attack the lungs.
As most of the community knows, and has supported Jason and his family in the past, Jason’s condition deteriorated to the point of needing a Double Lung Transplant in 2018.
Jason was only 55 years old at his passing and is survived by his wonderfully-supportive wife, Irene (Ferreira) and two sons, Brandon and David, and his sweet granddaughter, Isabella.
Up until his condition prevented him from doing so, Jay was a coach for the Plainfield Junior Cats Football Organization. The Feltz family volunteers for the Plainfield Township Disabilities Committee, The Ray Graham Association Monarch Adult Autism program, and Will-Grundy Transition Planning Committee at Joliet Jr. College. They belong to St. Mary Immaculate Church in Plainfield.
Jason held various management positions at Hertz, Chase Bank and has been the Vice President at Fifth Third Bank in Countryside.
Jason grew up in St. Damian Parish in Oak Forest with his parents Dale (retired IUEC Local 2 member) and Barbara Feltz, his brother, Dale, and sisters, Barbie Keenan & Diane Jelley. The Feltz's were community leaders having volunteered with the Oak Forest Raiders Football & Cheerleading, Oak Forest Warriors Wrestling, along with the Oak Forest Girls Softball and School Board of District 142 in Oak Forest.
Jay is the nephew of retired IUEC Local 2 member, Jim Valone, nephew of Local 2-member,
Joe Valone, and nephew/godson of the former Business Manager of Local 2, John Valone.
Some of you have inquired on how you can help after losing Jason. We are touched by the tremendous outpouring of love for Jason and his family. In addition to the heartbreak of losing her spouse, the financial uncertainty can be overwhelming.
We understand we cannot stop the pain and anxiety the family is going through at this time, however, we can offer gifts of prayer and finding ways to help lift some of their financial burdens they are facing with the tremendous loss of their Husband and Father, Jason!
