Legacy for Jason Dudson – loved by industry, family and friends.

At only 50 years young, Destination Specialist for Chimu Adventures of 11 years, Jason Dudson – AKA ‘Super Jase’ passed away suddenly, leaving behind two beautiful young children, Noah and Charlotte - plus a loving partner Kat, all of whom made him incredibly happy during his time on earth.

Chimu has lost so much with Jason’s departure, but nothing compares to the loss his family will be feeling, now and into the future.

Jason was absolutely devoted to his family and would do anything to protect them. Often at the office he would talk to his work mates about this parenting strategies, his fatherly protection and his devoted love for his family. He constantly shared photos and videos of his children as they grew; there would often be silence in the office and the next thing you knew, Jase was standing by your side, phone in hand, huge smile on his face and almost aghast in joy on how wonderful his children were – smile wide, eyebrows raised. The last video he showed at Chimu was of his young daughter Charlotte kick boxing on her new kicking stick at home in the lounge room. He was so proud of her.

When Jase met Kat – the love of his life - his whole world took flight. Kat made him so happy, you could feel his joy when he walked into the office and when talking about what we all got up to on weekends, he’d often talk about just being home. “I love being home, more and more these days" he’d say.

His family was his everything.

At work Jase was more than a Destination Specialist for the company — he was the cornerstone of the Chimu Sydney office and played a huge part in the success of Chimu Adventures for the duration of his 11-year employment. His deep knowledge, wicked sense of humour and passion for sharing his unwavering love of his family were characteristics the Chimu crew loved him for.

Notably, during the pandemic, Jason’s determination and loyalty worked as a solid foundation in the success of repatriating travellers - both for Chimu and other companies - home to Australia. He then worked on selling and crewing Chimu’s scenic flights which helped the company operate during the closure of the international borders, before the integral part he played when borders opened, and the business built its way back to the solid company it is, once again, today.

Jason’s passing leaves a void that cannot be filled. We are grateful for the time we had with him, the Pearl Jam songs he shared and memories we’ll carry forward.

For all of the above reasons, we have set up this GoFundMe page to help support his family at this difficult time - to honour his legacy of love and protection for his family. It won’t bring him back, it won’t solve all challenges, but it is something proactive we can all do to honour Jason. We hope you will join us by throwing a coin in to support.
