Taking care of Jason Dhillon

Donation protected

Dear Friends of Jason Dhillon,

On August 16th Jason was involved in a terrible accident while riding his motorcycle in Norway.  He is now stuck there for the next 4 - 6 weeks and can then move home where he will have to do extensive rehabilitation as he recovers.

The good news is that he is going to be okay but getting there is going to take time and a lot of support from friends and family. In brief, his motorcycle collided with an SUV on a tight turn leaving his left leg horribly broken, his left hand had three fingers broken and his shoulder dislocated. First on the scene I found him in pain but with his typical Jason humor and amazing resilience - and most importantly ALIVE.

On 22nd August he underwent his second round of surgery that took 14 hours and including transferring muscle from his back and skin to his damaged leg.

I have met with some of the very competent doctors including a plastic surgeon and he is in good hands.

Unfortunately, he can't work and has a long road to recovery ahead of him and I truly hope that you can help in any way possible as he is really going to need it and is too proud to ask for help.

Because Jason is in Norway and he is receiving excellent medical help and his insurance is covering the surgery and hospital care. I am raising money to help with:

-Support of Jason and his family while he is unable to work
- Transporting Jason back to the UK which might require special services that are quite costly

Right now Jason is alone in Norway (I visited him earlier this week but am now back in New York where I live) and feels isolated and needs to hear from people who love him.  Nemotional support from friends and family as he prepares for a long road to recovery.  Fortunately it is expected that he will achieve full recovery if everything goes well.

Please help me raise the money needed to help him get home and take care of his family.  This is really just a bit of what its going to cost so please give as much as you can for him.

Thank you very much. If you don't know who I am I have been friends with Jason for about 5 years and he was with me driving an incredibly beautiful road rally through Norway when the accident occurred.

I, with several other friends, were the first to find him and care for him before he was medevacked to the hospital where he is now.

Help spread the word!

From Jason

Although proud, I am touched that Ben and AJ came together with the idea

Some of you might know, last year was quite tumultuous for me.

I left my job in engineering and moved back to London ... Partially to look after my mum and my grandmother (who both have long term, degenerative conditions), and help my siblings but also importantly set up three new businesses.

Unfortunately even though I've invested a lot in the businesses they are several months from being able to produce a real return, so recently I've begun freelance engineering design work on top of everything else to cover the shortfall.

These injuries, will heal but in the months that it will take me to walk again I still need to cover my bills, pay for additional care, and cover my roles in the businesses.
