Jason Cullen, graduated from Redlands East Valley Class of 2004, was shot and killed on 1/10/18 by two armed suspects wearing dark clothing and surgical masks attempting to rob the family owned pawnshop. The attackers immediately threw a Molotov cocktail (poor mans grenade) at the counter and opened fire, according to the San Bernardino Police Department.
Jason immediately (while shot in the abdomen) pulled his own gun and returned fire, protecting and saving the lives of many customers and employees. The gunfight continued and Jason won as the shooters fled. However, Jason lost his fight later at the hospital from the bullet fatally piercing his liver. He is survived by his two beautiful sons: Brock 2, & Harley 6. Any funds donated will go to the education/ childcare of his two young sons.
His family desperately reaches out for any information to help to catch these killers.
Delores -Mother of Jason said;
"This is the way my son would have wanted to die. He's always been the kind to give the shirt off his back, willing to do anything he could to help others," Delores said. "I take solace in that."
"Their intent was to kill everyone in the building, not just rob," We're deeply concerned because these people have no value for life."
Witnesses described the suspects as two black males of medium build mid-20's, both wearing dark pants, black hoodies and surgical masks.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Detective William Flesher (909) [phone redacted] or Sergeant Emil Kokesh (909) [phone redacted] of San Bernardino Police Department Homicide Unit.
ATTN: it has been brought to our attention that another gofundme has been created by another family friends. BOTH accounts are ok and ALL funds will go to Jason’s children - thank you all! We appreciate all your support and kind words. Love, Ashlee Cullen
