Jason Andrew Brown Memorial

Dear Family & Friends,

Jason Brown passed suddenly and unexpectedly early morning of April 22nd, 2020 from what we believe was a fatal undiagnosed heart issue. Jason was a loving son, brother, nephew, uncle, and friend. Jason had just turned 36 when he was taken from this world and his passing has left a huge void in the hearts of all those that knew him. People knew him as J-Bar, JayBeezy, Ajax, The Pest, and The Senator.

Jason was born in Boston and throughout his life his family moved to 7 different states. In each new state Jason’s outgoing and friendly personality brought in new friends like a magnet. Jason had a zest for life and loved traveling the world and exploring new places. Jason enjoyed traveling spontaneously, one time, on a whim, he flew to New York for less than 24 hours just so that he could visit his cousin.

In 2007 Jason completed his bachelors degree in Business Administration and Management at CSU San Bernardino. Jason then went on to earn his masters degree in Public Administration in 2009. Jason had a passion for the transportation and logistics industry and spent 7 years as an industrial engineer with UPS. For the last year and a half Jason worked in business development for JB Hunt and had just received a promotion 2 weeks before he passed.

Jason was not married and had no children but in the last few years he spent most of his free time with his young nephews who he loved and adored, Emilio (6), Sawyer (3), and Tristan (9 mos.). During the summer months you could always find Uncle Jason (Funcle) in the swimming pool and his nephews. They loved that they always had someone who would swim with them, even if the water was cold! In the winter time Uncle Jason enjoyed spending family time at the Phoenix Zoo and was always ready to take his nephews up to the observation tower to see the giraffes and zebras.

Jason was one of the most selfless people that we knew, he never hesitated to give anything and everything that he could to those he loved. Unknown to us, just before Jason’s passing he sent a pair of New Balance shoes to his uncle in Boston, this was “typical Jason”, giving things just to make those that he cared about happy. We can’t count the number of times he would go shopping and bring back random gifts for his friends and family regardless of if he spent his last dollar just to make someone smile.

Jason was a very kind and loving soul and he loved being able to help his family and friends. His death brings feelings of sadness, emotional pain, anger, stress, and agony. The family has been struggling to find the right words to describe just how amazing Jason was and how to best honor him. One of Jason’s favorite places to be with his family was at the Phoenix Zoo, we are raising money to purchase a memorial bench at the zoo so that he can be remembered in a place that he enjoyed. We understand that everyone is going through their own difficulties with the current epidemic and are grateful for any contribution you may be able to provide.
