Jason Abbott vs. Cancer
A beloved friend, Jason Abbott of Boerne, TX needs your help. He is currently undergoing his second round of treatment for Lymphocytic Leukemia and its about time we give back to this amazing soul. All donations will go directly to Jason to help cover his current medical bills of $20,000 and climbing (the portion not covered by insurance).
Jason is a father, a husband, and one of the most giving people you will ever meet. He has dedicated his entire life to the service of others. He has been a police officer for 30 years, protecting our own town of Boerne for 18! He is a veteran of The U.S. Army, serving his country for 7 years. Jason is also one of the most talented photographers you’ll ever meet. He has done nothing but give, from saving countless lives to just cheering up all his friends on their bad days. He is one of the most loving, kind, giving humans in this world, and darn it we just can't sit by while he goes through these years of turmoil without lending a helping hand.
Jason and his wife Karla are the type of people who would literally take the shirts off their backs to help people, their pure love and joyful natures are one in a million. Ask anyone who has ever crossed their path, there is not a more deserving pair in this town, or heck this world, to give a small nudge of hope to. Married in 2015, I have never seen a more solid, loving, complimentary pair. So if you are in the position to do so, please find it in your heart this Holiday season to help this amazing man cover the medical bills that continue to stack up. Every little bit helps, and no donation is too small.
Jason's medical story:
Starting in 2006 Jason Abbott has had several medical setbacks. The primary medical problems arose from a small Ventral Hernia. After having the fairly routine surgery to repair this. He had complications with the anesthesia causing what is referred to as a “Bad wake up”. During this episode the minor surgery became much larger and caused greater damage. After a second surgery to repair all of the injuries Jason suffered from an extended Ileus, or an obstruction causing. This caused an extended stay in the hospital. Over the next several years Jason has complications related to this and was hospitalized 7 more times resulting in 4 more surgeries and ongoing internal medical issues. In October or 2016 Jason Abbott was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and became symptomatic in April of 2017. He has completed a set of treatments and has been managing the disease ever since. In October of 2018 the cancer started causing issues with the lymph nodes in his right upper chest and neck. He has started a second set of treatments.
Thankfully having insurance has cover the majority of the costs, but the accumulation of the extra costs, medications and frequent follow visits have become overwhelming. Jason is not one who wants to ask for help. He would rather be the one helping. He is not looking for a handout but could use a little help if possible. And dang it, as he is a pillar of this community, and an exemplary example to us all of how to live and love in grace, I feel it totally necessary to try.
As mentioned before, in his free time from the police force Jason is an accomplished and award winning portrait photographer! His hobby is literally trying to make people see their beauty.
WOW, right?
So please! Lets show this incredible person and his wonderful family some love in this hard time. Anything will help, $10, $20, $50, $100, $1000, $5000!
Thank you and God bless!
