25-year old Jasmine Woods is the daughter of Iyona Sutton and Jerrold Woods and the granddaughter of Doretha Sutton-Singletary and Mauriann Woods.
On August 25, 2019 ... Jasmine, her twin Janay and their friend flew to Mexico to celebrate their friend's birthday. While there Jasmine complained of feeling ill but thought it would pass. Days later she realized she needed to get home. On September first the young ladies began their trip from Mexico to Fort Lauderdale. Sometime during the flight Jasmine went into cardiac arrest and stopped breathing. A physician who was on the airplane resuscitated Jasmine by administering CPR ten minutes before the plane landed.
Upon arriving at the hospital the doctors performed emergency surgery on what we would later learn was a perforated ulcer. Since September first, Jasmine has undergone 4 days of dialysis to restore kidney function but she remains on a ventilator and is unresponsive.
The hospital's goal is to medical flight her back to Illinois as soon as possible where she can receive expert care closer to home on what remains a long road to recovery due to possible brain injury. Your generous donation will help us cover the initial medical costs associated with her surgery as well as the cost of the medical air flight her back to home to Chicago.
Thank you in advance on behalf of Jasmine Woods and her entire family!
