Emergency Rent Help for Jasmine

Donation protected
Hey, everyone!

So, some of you may know this, but I've had a really hard time finding work since I left my part-time job (where they'd been endlessly cutting hrs) back in October 2024. I've been doing a combo of uber delivery and professional theatre work since then to try and keep a roof over my head, and near the end of May, I was super fortunate to get hired at a bar in DC. At the same time, I've been on a 2+ year journey of aligning myself to have time for the things I'm most passionate about - art and theatre that speaks to my soul, and helping bring about positive change in the communities I love, and those I belong to. I'm finally at a place where that alignment is within reach, but it has unfortunately coincided with an inability to keep up with my living expenses, fully halting any further progress to that end. I couldn't pay my rent in May (or June), and the lack of a May payment resulted in my leasing office filing for eviction. Early this month, I received a formal court summons for an eviction hearing that will take place this Friday, 6/27. I've sought rental & emergency assistance that unfortunately hasn't panned out, and have active postings of furniture for sale (on FB marketplace if you know anybody looking for some home furnishings!). Outside of that, I have been working hard to earn what I can in hopes I'd be able to avoid being evicted, but I am nearly out of time. In the long-term, I know I will be okay - I blessedly got a verbal offer just this past Friday for a full-time 9-5 job that will 100% support all of my expenses - I'm just waiting on the offer letter, which I expect to receive and sign no later than Wednesday of this week. In the short-term, ~$3900 stands between me being able to stay through the end of my lease and being evicted, and that will increase to about $4900 once court fees and "damages" are accounted for if I can't pay the $3900, based on my summons.

My lease ends August 30th - getting help with what is past-due will give me the time I need to get my things sold/donated/packed up and figure out a new living situation instead of having to figure it out in 10 to 14 days, while still needing to work as much as possible (and be in rehearsals) to cover my other living expenses and past-due bills. I would be eternally grateful for anything at all you can give, or any other networks you could possibly share this with - every little bit will help!

Thank you so much, from the entirety of my heart, for your support and help, my friends <3.
