Jasmin Donkey's Medical Bills

Donation protected

Please help Jasmin in the fight for her life! Her medical bills are climbing rapidly and she is still in the ICU.

Jasmin was rescued by Fine & Dandy Acres from a kill pen in North Carolina along with a mom and baby pair of donkeys in April of 2021. She was said to be a 3 year old small, standard donkey, but when she arrived it was clear she was only about 6 months old and was sent to auction by herself, emaciated, sick, covered in lice, and unhandled.

Jasmin quickly bonded with mom and baby donkey as she had been separated from other donkeys too young. Though she was unhandled, she built trust with us quickly thanks to good food and lots of love.

Jasmin's lice was eradicated, she gained weight, had her feet trimmed, learned how to walk on a lead and stand to be groomed, and was brought back to health. She has turned into an absolute love bug who will beg for attention from people.

A week ago, Jasmin stopped eating and spiked a fever. The equine vet was called and they transferred her to North Carolina State University. She was immediately placed in the ICU with a diagnosis of aspiration pneumonia. With steroids, 3 types of IV antibiotics, and oxygen flowing up both nostrils, the veterinarian said there was no way a donkey this sick could survive, but every day Jasmin has been improving. She is beating the odds and fighting to survive. Please help us ensure Jasmin continues to receive the best care possible and comes back home to her family!
