Hello everyone. My name is Christina Weese. I am the aunt to Jase Lee Fury. Many of you have seen my posts over the past week. My nephew Jase is your sweetest, rambunctious little 2-year-old boy. He loves to be outdoors and is so full of life and love.
A little over a week ago, my sister Jennifer, also known as Maki, and my niece Bailey started noticing some things going on with Jase. Over a couple of days, these changes seemed to be presenting themselves as seizures. They started out as things you would question or wonder about, to obvious signs that something was wrong. The decision was made last Tuesday to take Jase into the ER. He had a series of tests done that evening. No one was prepared for the news. Jase's parents and family were told he indeed was having seizures. The cause was a large tumor on the left side of his brain. A tumor that would require immediate brain surgery to remove. Surgery was scheduled for the next morning.
Our sweet Jase had to endure a 6-hour surgery to get this tumor out. We waited and waited. The surgery was a success and the tumor was removed. As the little guy was being transported to recovery, the unthinkable occurred. A major artery had collapsed and Jase was having a stroke. The family was notified and he went back into surgery to fix the artery so he would not continue to have a stroke. The medical team was amazing and worked diligently. We had so many people praying. They were able to fix the collapsed artery and stop any more strokes.
So here we are a week later. Jase's journey is going to be long and emotional. He has had good days and bad. He is having to relearn to walk, talk, sit up, and eat again. Jase is having speech, OT, and PT daily to help this sweet little boy recover. This is all taking a toll on his parents, Jordan and Bailey, as well as his family and friends. Jase's journey is long. We have been told he will probably be in the hospital for 2 months. Then continued therapy will be needed.
This GoFundMe page is being set up to help with covering medical expenses as well as helping with the family's rent and utilities. They have lost one set of income so Bailey is able to stay with Jase. We have a couple of things going if you are wanting to help this sweet family. We have the GoFundMe page as well as selling t-shirts. The proceeds from all go to the family. Most of all, please continue to pray for Jase. We know this is what has brought him through and will be what continues to heal him. He is a little miracle. #JASETHEMIGHTY.
