Jarod and Michelle Traxel Medical Fund

I know times are hard for so many right now and I feel helpless about the number of small businesses closing. But this is more than that. So many of you know Jarod and Michelle from their incredible restaurant Little Fast and Fresh, but for those that don’t, they are the kindest, coolest people you will ever meet. While my heart is broken that LFF is closing as I go there as often as I possibly can, I can’t stand by and do nothing as they could potentially lose so much more. I know this amazing community will rally for them to help pay their medical bills as they go through some impossibly hard times in the next several months or more. Check out their story in their own words. “Five and a half years ago we took a chance and signed a lease on our very own restaurant. It’s been a journey fulls of wins and loses, highs and lows but we’ve truly loved it. . We saw our community support us in ways we never dreamed of, became a place of beginnings and endings, welcoming new family members and saying goodbye to other. . The last three years have been a challenge we’ve done our best to navigate but the world has changed in ways we can’t keep up. As we come to the end of our lease we’ve faced utility expenses four times higher than when we started, skyrocketing food and container costs, rent increases and mountains of debt we had to take on to stay open. We steadily raised prices but have reached that point where we can’t raise them enough to offset the increased expenses because honestly, we wouldn’t want to pay those prices ourselves as consumers and it’s unfair to ask you to. . We push and tried and pushed some more but in November of 2021 we faced a problem we couldn’t just muster through. Michelle got sick. Like, really, really sick. Too many ambulance rides, countless hospital trips and a 21 days hospital stay have left us really struggling to find the drive to push through the hardships. I’ve been working more than ever while my wife struggles with her mobility and daily life tasks. She has a major surgery with a lengthy recovery that may or may not work and require more surgery, and more recovery time. . We tried desperately to find a solution. We tried to find a new, cheaper space, streamline, pivot, change, anything that would keep us going but the problems are so much bigger than what we can control. . We had to pick which battles we could face and at this crossroads we’ve decided to focus on healing and health. Michelle still has an unknown journey to face and we are going to navigate it together, as a family. We always tried to make your lives a Little easier and right now we need to be selfish and do the same for ours. Will we lose our house? Who knows but those struggles seem small when faced with big, scary, life changing health stuff. . We love you, we love what we do but it’s just not working right now. We will be closing February 11. Regular hours until then. We will miss you but who knows, maybe it won’t be forever, just for right now. . Much love The Traxels”
